1. Charging the Battery
· When the pump truck starts, the battery needs to supply a large current to the starter.
· When the engine is not running or running at a low speed (for example, when waiting for construction at the construction site), all the electricity used by the entire vehicle comes from the battery.
· After the engine starts running, the charger (i.e., the generator) will continuously charge the battery to make up for the power consumption during startup and standby, ensuring that the battery remains fully charged at all times for the next successful vehicle startup.
2. Powering the Vehicle's Electrical System
· The pump truck is a highly electrified device. In addition to basic vehicle lighting, dashboards, air - conditioners, etc., there are also a large number of electrical equipment specifically used for pumping operations. The charger needs to provide stable power for the following key systems:
· Electronic Control System: Modern pump trucks are basically electronically controlled, including the computer board (PLC), solenoid valves, sensors, etc., which control the pumping speed, displacement, and boom movement. This is the “brain” and “nerves” of the pump truck.
· Electronic Control Part of the Hydraulic System: It controls the current of the proportional valve of the hydraulic oil pump to precisely control the movement of the boom and the pressure and speed of pumping.
· Cab Console: The display screen, control handles, buttons, alarms, etc., all require power.
· Lubrication System: The motor of the automatic lubrication pump operates.
· Cooling System: The fan motor of the hydraulic oil radiator.
· Safety and Monitoring System: Cameras, reversing radars, boom anti - collision sensors, etc.
